Tips for Fall
Fall is here and its starting to get a little chilly. Make sure you and your home are prepared for the Fall and the cold weather up ahead!
• Take the hose off of the outside faucets! If you leave the hose on the outside faucet, it won't allow the water to drain out of the faucet and the faucet might freeze and burst, then it will need to be replaced.
• Close vent for crawlsapces, this helps prevent frozen pipes.
• Clean your sump pump and pit. If it is exposed to below freezing temperatures, it might freeze and prevent it from working any further.
• Make sure outside drains and gutters are clear of debris like falling leaves. This may prevent flooding.
• If you leave your home for an extended period, shut your main water valve off. Also leave the heat on no less than about 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
